DOUBLE EXPOSURE

This collection is an ongoing series that portrays historical Black figures. Using the visual style of a 'double exposure' photograph, I am able to offer the viewer two visual planes; a portrait of an icon and a glimpse into their life story. History is rich with perspectives that I want to preserve and continually prompt for exploration.

PATTERNS OF BEAUTY

The Patterns of Beauty series explores Black models through the patterns of what makes them unique and beautiful devoid of skin tone/color. I use a single color pushpin coupled with a mathematical approach to deconstruct light.

Freedom of Expression, Jamaica

This collection is part of an ongoing series that explores the freedom of expression of the African diaspora manifested through fashion and style. The first installment focuses on the island of Jamaica. Dancehall is a major part of the culture and I have isolated clothing as the visual language.
